#1A

When Golding describes that, "He was the only boy on the island whose hair never seemed to grow." the boy he is referring to is Piggy. The quote describes how Piggy is the symbol of reasoning and practicality in the book.  Piggy's appearance doesn't change at all during the book while all the other boys' attitudes and morals change. His hair is still curly and short, and he is still plumper than the rest. This represents that not even Jack can change his opinions or views on what is right or wrong. He demonstrates that no one should ever make you change your mind or make you believe what they want you to.
