In the quote, "He was the only boy on the island whose hair never seemed to grow." the boy referred to is Piggy. Ralph is describing how Piggy is the symbol of reasoning. Piggy does't change at all during the book while all the other boys turn to savages. In this part of the story, all of the other boys appearances on island change, while Piggy stays the same. His hair is still curly and short, and he is still plumper than the rest. This represents that no one on the island will change his opinions or views on what is right or wrong. The moral of the story is that no one should ever make you change your mind or make you believe what you want them to.
